Design and Technology Technician

• Job Type: Full-time, Term time plus 2 weeks
• Salary Range: £12.82 - £13 per hour

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Design and Technology Technician at a forward-thinking school in Great Yarmouth. We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our highly successful Art and Design Faculty, a supportive and experienced team passionate about their subjects and fostering positive relationships with pupils.

• Develop and prepare practical work that supports teaching objectives and enhances student learning in Design Technology.
• Manage resources, ensuring materials and equipment are ready for use in daily activities and long-term projects.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to meet technical requirements and maintain health and safety standards.
• Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Set up and assist with class demonstrations and practical lessons, providing technical advice to staff and students.
• Maintain displays of student work and manage the archiving of teaching resources.
• Advise on material stocks, conduct inventory checks, and manage the ordering of materials as needed.
• Organize storage for tools, equipment, and student work efficiently.

• Experience in Design Technology with an understanding of the curriculum’s technical requirements.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to Design Technology.
• Proficient in ICT and excellent communication skills.
• Independent worker with strong initiative and multitasking abilities.
• Relevant technical qualifications.
