You will be working for a fantastic children's residential care home in South London. The home provides high-quality care and support for children and young people with emotional behavioural disorders and complex needs.

Your new role
The role of Deputy Manager is an excellent opportunity to work alongside the Registered Manager on all aspects of service development within our children's home; continually improving the home, role modelling good practice, and embedding a relationship-based model of care.
You will play a key role in leading the team to achieve high standards and ensure that children who live in Lighthouse Pedagogy Trust homes receive the best care possible. Through empowering staff and providing clear leadership, you will continue to develop the culture of high-quality, relationship-centered care in the home. You will be responsible for safeguarding young people and putting their safety and wellbeing first, supporting them on their journey through their teenage years, and helping them to thrive and participate in plans for their futures.

What you'll need to succeed

• Recent experience in managing and supervising staff in a children's home.
• Experience of working with teenagers with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties
• Able to form positive, trusting relationships with young people and their families and role model relationship-centred practice.
• Able to lead the staff team to ensure they deliver a consistently high quality of care.
• Able to assess and balance risks and issues facing young people in care and their families, with opportunities for learning and growth.
• Able to deputise for the Registered Manager as necessary, including representing the home to external agencies and maintaining positive professional relationships.
