Deputy Manager
Your new company
You will be working for a fantastic, fully refurbished children's residential care home in Southwest London. The home provides high-quality care and support for high-risk children and young people with self-harm and suicidal ideation, as well as criminal exploitation.
Your new role
As a Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the home and providing the best outcomes for the young residents. You will need to have a can-do attitude and be proactive in handling any challenges that may arise. You will also be expected to act as a role model to the young adults and provide them with the support they require. In addition, you should have a solid understanding of the OFSTED regulations and policies for residential childcare.
What you'll need to succeed
- An NVQ Level 3 and/or working towards a level 5 with children and young adults
- At least 2 years' experience as deputy manager in a residential setting for children with self-harm, suicidal Ideation and criminal exploitation
- Must have excellent communication, patient and resilience
- A good knowledge of the legislation, standards and safeguarding practices for residential childcare
- A commitment to the welfare and development of children and young people
- Experience of supporting a team who are managing challenging behaviour
