Catch22 specialises in providing alternative and special education to young people aged 4 to 18 in West London. We work with students facing complex challenges for whom mainstream schooling has not been successful. Our aim is to offer these vulnerable young individuals the highest quality education tailored to their needs, enabling them to progress and succeed in sustained education or employment.

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Headteacher who is passionate about making a tangible difference in the lives of young people. This role presents an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Headteacher in planning, overseeing, and delivering specialized services to a maximum of eight learners per class. As Deputy Headteacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape of our institution while actively contributing to the broader educational provision of the Trust.

Main Duties & Accountabilities:

  • Strategically oversee the design, development, and delivery of innovative curricula and pastoral support across the school.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive program of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to ensure high-quality teaching and pastoral support.
  • Lead quality assurance efforts and utilize self-evaluation to drive school improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as the designated Looked After Children (LAC) lead, ensuring compliance with SEND and LAC policies and statutory provisions.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining and improving the school's inspection ratings through the delivery of high-quality education.

Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:

  • Recognised higher qualification with significant teaching experience, willingness to work towards QTS and NPQH.
  • Degree in a related subject.
  • Completion of local safeguarding training in line with national guidance.

Essential Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with school quality frameworks and Ofsted requirements.
  • Understanding of statutory requirements and legislation related to school leadership and management.
  • Knowledge of foundation learning, vocational learning, and alternative provision.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience working with young people facing complex behavioral and learning needs.
  • Proven track record of leadership and team management within an alternative provision setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive standards of delivery and improve overall performance.

Essential Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Customer-focused approach with the ability to influence others.
  • Sound financial awareness and decision-making abilities.
  • Independence and logical thinking.
