Deputy Director of Estates based in Newcastle

Deputy Director Of Estates

Duties will include:

  • Working closely with the Director of Estates, the Deputy Director of Estates will contribute to ensuring the corporate objectives of the Trust are achieved with specific focus on the provision of safe and secure premises and equipment
  • responsible and accountable for the standard delivery, continual monitoring, risk management and review of Estates and Facilities services to ensure a professional, high quality, cost effective and efficient service to meet the demands of the organisation
  • Provide senior leadership in the development and delivery of Estates decarbonisation plans / projects in support of the Organisation’s Climate Emergency Agenda
  • Operational lead for managing fire safety across the organisation to ensure that the organisation meets all statutory fire safety requirements including risk assessment and training as well as engineering and building maintenance
  • Development and delivery of long term strategies, plans and polices as they relate to estates services including the implementation of legislative requirements and risk management arrangements
  • Responsible for procuring complex engineering and service contracts, detailing and approving specifications, leading procurement processes and carrying out ongoing monitoring of service contracts

Essential skills / qualifications:

  • Degree in an Engineering or Building Services related subject
  • Member of relevant professional body such as IHEEM, IET or CIBSE
  • Masters Degree or equivalent healthcare estates specialist experience in a suitable engineering or building services subject
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Significant post qualification experience & track record of managing Estates assets and services, including budgets within a complex acute health environment
