Deputy Chief Executive

Gillespie Recruitment are delighted to be working with our client, a charitable organisation supporting people in South Tyneside, in their search for a Deputy Chief Executive!

Main responsibilities:

• To provide strategic support to the CEO and deputise when required.
• Provide leadership and direction to fundraising and communications ensuring compliance with internal and external policies and as an effective member of the Senior Management Team.
• To lead on the submission of grant applications to meet the charity’s annual income target.
• With the CEO, develop and deliver an integrated and effective communications and fundraising strategy to grow a sustainable and diverse income mix for, and raise the profile and community support.
• Embed a culture of fundraising and effective storytelling throughout the organisation.
• Oversee implementation of a communications plan promoting the work of their services to a broad range of audiences through a range of channels and campaigns.
• With the CEO, manage and cultivate relationships with existing and developing supporters. Manage and deliver fundraising activities with trusts and foundations.
• To manage the Corporate Fundraiser, setting annual objectives and providing support and direction to enable them to meet the targets set.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a similar role and experience of developing and implementing fundraising and communications strategies and plans. Must have knowledge of marketing and communication principles and practice, digital marketing and of using social media.
