The Company currently operates globally with 24 sites in the UK with further growth anticipated.

The Depot Supervisor role on offer is a varied role.

The role requires a highly motivated and determined person, who is excited by the opportunity to have a real long-term impact. To succeed in this role it is vital that you are motivated by working in a complex, fast-moving international environment where you have daily interactions with people from different cultures and background. You will have strong, hands-on experience and enjoy working in a role with the autonomy to get the work done on time and in full.

Overview of the Role
This individual needs to be highly self-motivated and be able to self-manage the expectations of this key role.

This role will be responsible for undertaking fabrication, welding and general maintenance work according to customer orders on a container in our busy shipping container workshop / depot and self-store site in Poole and to assist with the repair and refurbishment of container stock.

You will also carry out general maintenance needed on the containers within the depot. Welding will need to be carried out as and when required to ensure that the container is fit for purpose.

Safety first is paramount – Never put yourself or any other individual at risk.

Main Responsibilities
• Designing, cutting, welding and shaping metal parts and structures using various techniques and tools
• Selecting appropriate materials and equipment for each project
• Performing basic repairs and maintenance using welding and fabrication equipment
• Fabricate customer orders from containers, from offices to the potential of multi-storey warehouses
• A good understanding of general maintenance skills
• Creating and maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring that risk assessments are carried out as part of any work that is undertaken
• Adhering to safety protocols and practices at all times
• Must have good customer service skills and be able to complete paperwork as needed for the purpose of rental contracts

Requirements for this Role
• Welding and Fabrication Qualification
• Knowledge of different welding and fabrication techniques, equipment and materials
• Ability to use fabrication equipment and tools, such as bending, forming, cutting, grinding, polishing, etc
• Good problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills with the ability to build relationships with team colleagues and other members of staff including external parties
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• An excellent approach to H&S requirements
• Flexible to work outside normal business hours at times and carry out overtime if required
• Adaptable to change and able to work under pressure
• Good attention to detail
• Counterbalance Licence
• Container Handler Licence – preferable but not essential as training will be given
• Full driving licence
• Basic IT and administration skills

What’s on offer
Workplace: Fareham Depot & Self Store / Poole Self Store Site
Travel activity: Travel within the UK to support other workplaces, if necessary
Start date: ASAP
Salary: £30k - £35k depending on experience and skills – negotiable for the right person
Bonus: Discretionary annual bonus paid twice yearly – currently November and May
Holidays: 25 days per annum plus bank holidays
Life Assurance: Day 1 benefit
Health Insurance: After 3 months and on the next entry point of either April or October
Salary Date: On or before 25th of each month
Company Equipment: All PPE and tools needed as necessary. Use of EV van to travel between sites
Hours of work: 40 hours per week 8am – 5pm plus overtime as and when necessary to fulfil the role, paid at time and a half after 40 hours have been worked
