Quest Search and Selection is currently partnering with a supermarket chain in Bermuda! The business operates both small supermarkets and convenience stores strategically situated across the island.

The Role :

The Department Manager is responsible for staff supervision and the overall efficient running of the entire produce department.

Responsibilities of this Department Manager - Produce :

  • Leading the Produce department across all stock and sales KPI’s
  • Delegating effectively to all staff members
  • Accurately record all invoices and transfers
  • Conduct department inventories with precision and efficiency.
  • Efficiently place product orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, based on projected product movement and customer demand.
  • Ensure a comprehensive selection of seasonal products is available at all times.
  • Set product prices in accordance with the company's price lists.
  • Know and ensure that all staff follow the procedures for rotating, merchandising, and displaying products
  • Adhere to company guidelines while merchandising fresh produce to optimize sales and profits.
  • Ensure that a clean, safe, and healthy work environment is maintained
  • Possess a helpful and courteous demeanor at all times
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with staff, store managers, and the Group Produce Manager.

To be successful in this Department Manager - Produce

  • At least 2years+ experience as a as a Supervisor or a Floor Manager /Department Manager
  • You must have experience within the Produce department
  • Must have experience in past or present within a supermarket retailer or foodhall.
  • You must have strong leadership experience & excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
  • Able to prioritise multiple tasks and have excellent organisational skills.
