Decoiler

A Decoiler / Steel Operative is required for a steel processing company based in the Dudley area. It is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established company.

Your main duties will involve setting and operating a decoiler, also known as a cut-to-length line. You will also be operating overhead cranes / counterbalance FLTs to handle steel, loading the line and more. This is a temporary to permanent role with long term opportunities available for successful candidates.

Duties include:

• Setting and running a decoiler
• Loading/ unloading the line using a pendant overhead crane
• Operating a counterbalance forklift truck to move palletised steel stock
• Checking quality and tolerances of slit coils using precision measuring equipment
• Banding, packing and palletising stock ready for dispatch

Working hours are on morning and afternoon shifts, rotating weekly;

6:00am - 2:00pm / 2:00pm - 10:30pm (7:30pm finish on Fridays)

The rate of pay for this role is £13.00 per hour to begin with, with premiums available for overtime.
