DCO Development Project Manager - Solar & BESS


An exciting opportunity for an experienced DCO Development Project Manager to join a leading solar PV and co-located battery storage developer. Specialising in the development of large-scale, grid-connected solar and battery storage farms, you would be instrumental in delivery within the UK market.


As a DCO Development Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects through the consenting process, from inception all the way to readiness for construction.

As a DCO Development Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:


* Managing the planning application process.
* Undertaking and managing the consultation process with the Local Planning Authority and the local community.
* Scoping, budgeting, and appointing the external consultants and legal teams responsible for supporting and securing the DCO.
* Managing the grid connection process, supported by Grid Manager.
* Working alongside the Design Team and Development Commercialisation team to optimise the project.
* Managing changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
* Managing a multi-disciplinary team from an early stage through to ready-to-build post-consent, including but not limited to; land referencing; legal teams across planning, property, and CPO; planning and environmental; compliance, and other communication/stakeholder management.
* Working through the pre-application phase with each sub-consultant/legal team to ensure the application remains on time and budget for a formal application.
* Once the DCO application has been submitted, the candidate will be expected to manage and orchestrate the response through the examination phase, stepping in to represent where appropriate.
* Discharging planning conditions and handover to construction.
* Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
* Performing other duties, appropriate to the position as the company may require from time to time.

As a DCO Development Project Manager, you will have the following skills and experiences:


* Team player with great communication skills and a structured way of working.
* Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate they have been a lead developer/project manager for DCO projects.
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in utility-scale solar farm development and infrastructure projects, or related discipline. Whilst prior experience of renewable energy projects, would be preferred, this is not strictly necessary.
* Successful track record in project delivery and managing multiple stakeholders.
* Developing and managing work projects, deadlines and task-related resources.
* Adapting to new challenges and learning swiftly.
* Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Project Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
* Ideally a Master's Degree and/or Professional Membership in a related discipline.
* Proficient with MS Office and comfortable at creating models in Excel to assist with your designs/assessment.
* Initiative, a "can-do" attitude, and a high desire to succeed.
* Valid Drivers' Licence (preferable).
* Eligible to live and work in the UK.
