The Role

As a Data Quality Assurance Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our Data solutions. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing comprehensive test plans to cover all requirements and functionality to guarantee a robust testing process. You will also be tasked with maintaining and enhancing our existing test suites.

Where the Data is complex, your expertise will be crucial as you investigate and report any defects with clear, reproducible steps, aiding in swift resolution. Effective collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with product owners, developers, and fellow QA team members to identify and fully comprehend project requirements. Your input will be valued in design and requirements review sessions, where your feedback will contribute to enhancing the overall quality of deliverables.

You will need to be able to communicate effectively, actively seeking feedback and adjusting testing strategies accordingly, ensuring that our products meet expectations.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proven background in Test activities on defined work packages, including test planning, preparation, execution and test defect management
  • Experience in testing Big Data
  • Testing life cycle experience with solid skills in performing systems integration, UAT, SIT, Data Migration and regression testing
  • Ability to work in a high-pressured, dynamic environment
  • Excellent communicator, able to interface with developers and the project team as well
  • Proven experience in Software Testing/Quality Assurance using testing management tools
  • Broad experience testing to ISTQB standards and risk based testing
  • Enthusiastic/self-motivated
  • Strong team player

  • Occasional travel across Sagacity offices or clients sites

Technical Skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify data quality issues and propose effective solutions
  • Proficient with Excel
  • Proficient with SQL
  • Exposure to Databricks desirable but not essential

Competencies and Behaviours

  • 2+ year/s of relevant experience
  • Commercial experience within Telecoms, Banking or Utilities industries; or within a data related consultancy company would be beneficial
  • Have applied technical and analytical skills using SQL and Excel
  • Ideally be educated to degree level in a numerate subject, and with strong A-levels in mathematical/ scientific based subjects
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have a keen eye for detail
  • Have pride in your deliverables
  • Are highly organised and good at planning
  • Good at working independently and as part of a team
  • Are flexible and self-motivated
  • Are good under pressure
  • Able to travel throughout the UK
