Sanderson Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Senior Data Engineer on behalf of our leading engineering services client based in Manchester.

The Role:
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be a pivotal member of the Information Systems team, reporting directly to the Head of Data Engineering. Your responsibilities will revolve around developing and implementing advanced data and reporting solutions, leveraging progressive Microsoft technologies.
You will contribute significantly to the delivery of data and insights, driving transformative change across all aspects of the business. Your role will involve enhancing the strategic data platform on Microsoft Azure, managing data from Dynamics 365 and other critical sources, creating dashboards for informed business decisions, and supporting predictive analysis projects. Operating at a significant scale, you'll tackle operational challenges, providing innovative and efficient data and analytic solutions that directly impact our flexible work environment.
Essential Requirements:
To thrive in this role, candidates must possess:
- Strong customer focus and exceptional communication skills.
- Proven experience in delivering contemporary data platforms using Microsoft Azure technologies.
- Expertise in T-SQL, including stored procedures, temp tables, and CTEs, with a focus on performance tuning.
- Proficiency in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Azure Data Factory.
- Experience with GIT for CI/CD source control in Azure.
- Competency in developing and deploying Azure Analysis Services Models.
- Skills in creating parameterised reports using SQL Server Reporting Services.
- Proficiency in developing datasets and reports in Microsoft Power BI.
- Familiarity with Data Bricks or Azure Synapse is desirable.
- Sound understanding of data modeling concepts.
- Experience in interpreting and analysing complex data.
- Knowledge and experience in data and data quality management.
- Competence in code management and deployment tools.
- Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
- Proficiency in debugging, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting BI solutions.
- Ability to excel in a matrix environment.
