Position: DAF AID & HGV Technician
Location: Northwich

Working Hours example Mon- Friday 09:00 -17:00 in workshop, Plus OOH DAF AID standby/calls outs, and every other Saturday on shift 07:00am - 12noonas overtime

Salary: £19 per hour dependent on experience, plus on call fees & call out fees!

DAF aid On Call : Mon- Friday on Call £15.00 Per night, Sat- Sunday on call £50, Public Holidays on call £25.
Minimum 3 hours pay per call out, GOP calls £0. Call outs are paid at time and a half any time after normal working hours and double time for Sunday or Bank holiday. Call outs are paid at your standard hourly rate if it's in their normal working time. If you working a bank holiday you will receive the day/time worked back as time back in lieu- (non-contractual)

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine maintenance checks and inspections on Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs)
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
• Perform servicing, including engine overhauls, brake adjustments, and other necessary repairs
• Keep accurate records of work carried out and parts used
• Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic or similar role
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues in HGVs
• Strong understanding of vehicle systems and components
• Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive engineering or a related field
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver's license (desirable)
