Customs Reclaims Coordinator

Our Client is an International Freight Forwarding company providing international and logistical needs from 3PL to sea, road and air freight.  Due to increased global growth, they are looking to appoint a  Customs Reclaims Coordinator to join their Customs team within their office in Heathrow.

As Customs Reclaims Coordinator , you will be responsible for coordinating customs reclaims activities and assist with Customs Operations.

Customs Reclaims Coordinator duties include:

• Ensure all reclaims are managed and dealt with in a timely manner.
• Maintain the reclaim spreadsheet, ensuring its kept up to date and all parties are informed of the current reclaims.
• Close liaison with Finance to ensure visibility for the business.
• Help to provide guidance to the Customs team on how to process reclaims.
• Report any amendments to customs declarations to the Line Manager.
• Ensure operational activities are completed and followed up correctly in accordance with organisational policy.
• Provide support and holiday coverage as and when required.
• Liaise with HMRC and assist with maintenance on customs procedures.
• Look and propose new efficiencies in customs and Customs Claims workflow.
• Maintain good housekeeping of work area at all times.
• Assist with REDS (Registered Excise Dealers & Shippers).
• Identify new sales leads and report to the Line Manager for distribution to the Sales team.
• Implement and improve new efficiencies in customer workflow in conjunction with Line Manager.
• Generate reports and KPI ensuring deadlines are met for submission to the Line Manager.
• Complete ad-hoc and spot checks on entries and submit reports to line manager and Head of Department weekly.
• Create training programs for new starters and existing staff on Customs systems, procedures and Import/Export regulations.

Sound knowledge of the post clearance amendment process is vital as well as a g ood operational know-how of customs procedures and the ability to support your team.  You'll be organised by nature and will thrive in a fast paced and dynamic atmosphere.  Being computer literate, having excellent attention to detail skills, as well as being good with numbers and a confident communicator are imperative attributes for the Customs Reclaims Coordinator .
