Customer Service Adviser (Body Shop)

Location; Northallerton
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Salary £24,000 and benefits including staff car scheme

Delivering premium customer service especially at times when customers may be inconvenienced by a vehicle that needs repairing, is a service that we pride ourselves on. If you pride yourself on rolling up your sleeves to deliver excellent customer service during times of inconvenience or stress this could be your opportunity to step up.

We’re Simon Bailes; established 45 years ago and since 1985 we’ve been the trusted partner of Peugeot through our three branches in the North East. We’ve built an enviable reputation through our welcoming, passionate and knowledgeable service standards, and ensure our customers stay in control of their purchasing journey, reassuring and supporting them at every stage.

This role provides a vital link between our body shop, insurers, and customers with vehicle repair requirements; ensuring the whole process is handled with speed, efficiency and great communication.

In particular you will:

  • Be the primary point of contact for our customers, managing bookings and courtesy cars, providing timescales, updates, progress reports and successful handover on completion.
  • Liaise closely with our body shop for estimates, confirmed work orders and parts, making sure that work progresses as planned. Managing communications with insurers and logging all activity on our bespoke job management and CRM systems.
  • Ensure our high standards of customer service are always maintained and use the handover to remind the customer of our ongoing commitment, and the broader range of products and services we can provide.

This role is about so much more than just communication, administration, and organisation. You are a vital customer interface at potentially a time of stress and disorganisation for them; giving them a sense of comfort and reassurance, and the opportunity for us to grow relationships and foster loyalty through an efficient service that continues to set us apart from the larger automotive groups.

You will have well-developed customer service skills, ideally gained in a similar body shop or vehicle service centre environment. Ideally, you’ll have warranty and Pinnacle experience, and knowledge of relevant statutory / regulatory requirements, but we will always support you with product and service training as required.

The key skills include honesty, integrity and transparency, whilst displaying the confidence and knowledge to effectively manage and progress customer repair requirements. The role is big on internal and external communications, so you’ll need to be able to show excellent evidence of this and understand the importance of managing many 'moving parts’ through your teamworking skills.

In return we offer you full induction and ongoing training, and the chance to be a part of a vibrant, successful and growing business.
