Salary: £41,808.00 - £45,021.00 pa inclusive. Grade 10.

The Role

This is newly created post within a new cross-cutting Economy & Sustainability Directorate under fresh and ambitious leadership. You would have an excellent opportunity to expand and consolidate your career by operating across an extensive peer group and diverse range of services within a newly created Regeneration, Economy & Skills department.

We are looking for an exceptional Curriculum Leader to spearhead our curriculum development efforts, drive continuous improvement, and capitalise on funding and commercialisation opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • To deliver high quality provision to meet the needs of Ealing’s residents, employers and communities and to ensure that residents can access programmes that enables them to improve their work and life prospects.
  • To be a model of best practice for tutors so they aspire and commit to achieving the highest possible standards and inspire a quality improvement culture through collaborative planning, sharing innovative approaches to teaching, including e-learning and developing and providing resources.
  • To ensure that robust quality mechanisms are implemented and monitored to validate achievement and standards associated with teaching and learning and to enable further improvement.
  • To drive significant improvements in the quality of teaching learning and assessment within the subject area/s they are responsible for to ensure that all learners achieve their full potential.

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the development of our curriculum, driving improvements, and maximizing funding and commercialisation opportunities to elevate our service to new heights.
  • Community Engagement: Strive to deliver high-quality provision that meets the needs of Ealing’s residents, employers, and communities. Ensure residents can access programs that empower them to improve their work and life prospects.
  • Best Practice Leadership: Be a model of best practice for tutors, inspiring commitment to achieving the highest standards. Foster a culture of quality improvement through collaborative planning, sharing innovative approaches to teaching, including e-learning, and developing and providing resources.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor robust quality mechanisms to validate achievement and standards associated with teaching and learning. Enable continuous improvement within the subject areas you are responsible for.
  • Educational Excellence: Drive significant improvements in the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment within the subject areas you oversee. Ensure that all learners achieve their full potential.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant educational leadership qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in curriculum development and leadership roles
  • Strong understanding of e-learning and innovative teaching approaches
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Up-to-date qualifications in the subject specialism (to at least Level 4 equivalence), or an in-depth knowledge and substantial experience in the subject area as specified in the job description.
  • Full teaching qualification e.g., DET or PGCE, or equivalent
  • English, Maths and Digital at Level 2 or above
  • Level 2 or above in English, maths and ICT or equivalent unless these are your subjects, in which case the above applies.
  • Assessors’ qualification.
