CREDIT RISK MANAGER

UP TO £70,000

REMOTE / CAMBRIDGE

This is an exciting new opportunity to work in the second line of defence leading all credit risk matters across the whole lifecycle. You will own the production of MI and other reports to the Mortgage Credit Committee, Risk Committee and Board.

THE ROLE

You will be doing the following daily:

  • Develop, review, and revise credit policies in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of credit policies, recommending adjustments as necessary.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of credit portfolios to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Provide actionable insights to optimise the credit risk-return profile of the organisation's portfolio.
  • Enhance credit risk frameworks, ensuring alignment with the organisation's risk appetite and strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate credit risk frameworks into broader risk management practices.
  • Stay updated on industry developments and regulatory changes, updating frameworks accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive Management Information (MI) reports for credit risk, providing regular updates to key stakeholders.
  • Engage in analytic projects for the business, such as assessing the impact of inflation on customer affordability.
  • Collaborate with risk management, finance, and other relevant departments to ensure a holistic approach to credit risk management.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management, presenting findings, recommendations, and insights clearly and concisely.
  • Foster a culture of risk awareness and understanding across the organisation.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience working as a credit risk specialist.
  • Preferable experience working on a mortgage portfolio.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of credit policy governance.
  • Numerate degree from a Russel Group University.
  • Strong SAS / SQL / Excel or Python skills.
  • Right to work in the UK.
