Credit Risk Analyst

  • Location: Hammersmith, W6
  • Job Type: Permanent (Hybrid)
  • Hours: 8am - 5pm
  • Salary: £30-35k

We are seeking a Credit Risk Analyst to join the Credit Risk team for an independent B2B energy supply company. This role offers a fantastic career opportunity for a determined, flexible, and driven individual. The role involves critical assessment of data and contracts, commercial risk management, and facilitating sustainable business growth.

Day to day of the role:
  • Assist the lead credit risk analyst in planning and managing credit requests from internal counterparties.
  • Conduct accurate credit assessments using quantitative and qualitative data, submit credit insurance requests, and undertake periodic credit limit reviews.
  • Monitor and update credit exposures and insurance cover levels.
  • Identify solutions for appropriate credit risk mitigation and manage the delivery of alternative forms of collateral.
  • Communicate credit decisions to internal teams, providing feedback and requesting information for reassessment.
  • Implement and review credit decisions relating to renewals, site additions, and payment term amendments.
  • Monitor the credit risk environment and macro-economic trends.
  • Aggregate data and produce reports for analysis.
  • Perform data entry, validation, and administrative tasks.
  • Execute ad-hoc tasks in line with the team’s needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, understand, and analyse financial data.
  • Self-starter with initiative to expand upon tasks and improve business processes.
  • Flexible and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Conscientious, responsible, and intellectually curious.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of prioritising and managing workload with minimal supervision.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and experience working with large data sets.
Experience:
  • Experience in Credit Risk or a similar Finance-related function.
  • Familiarity with a CRM system and multiple web-based platforms.
  • Office-based, analytical role experience.
  • Knowledge of the Electricity and/or Gas Industry is desirable.
