This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of an incredible team and gain more experience in investigating credit hire claims with a view to successfully repudiating the claims. You will predominately be handling your own case load of delegated authority claims which will include but not limited to credit hire cases, suspected credit hire fraud, liability investigations and bodily injury cases.

This is a national, Defendant law firm looking to hire a Credit Hire Paralegal to strengthen its team in Leeds. This role offers an excellent opportunity to investigate Complex credit hire claims from a tactical and strategic point. The role of the File Handler is to carry out complex & technical investigations on claims submitted from specific opponents. These claims will be up to £25,000 in value.

Technical knowledge to be developed:

  • Understanding of Pre Proceedings Credit Hire
  • The life cycle of a file
  • Knowledge of common law and litigation principles
  • An understanding of costs and protective offers
  • How to prepare a case for litigation

Personal Development:

  • This role offers an opportunity to develop a range of legal skills under supervision
  • Further career progression will depend on the File Handler aptitude and desire to move to a different business unit dealing with litigated fast track, fraud or multi track work
  • In addition, opportunities occur for those with leadership potential to move into deputy and then team leader roles
