Credit Controller - Full time - £3-35,000 per annum - 8.30am to 5pm - Hybrid working - 3 days office based 2 days WFH

About the role: Our Hemel based client are seeking a Credit Controller to join their dedicated and passionate finance team.

This is a full time, permanent opportunity based at our headquarters in Hemel Hempstead. The role will be working in a Credit Control team of 3, in a current finance team of 11.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within a Finance team where you have been involved in Credit Control. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys problem solving and working in a dynamic business operating in numerous markets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring that new customers have sufficient credit and that existing customers have settled monthly accounts in a timely manner.

You will be heavily involved in customer interaction, so need excellent communication skills, good levels of diplomacy and the ability to deal with difficult situations.

They work within a wider finance and accounting team and will report to the credit control manager and have regular interactions with the Finance Director.

Some of the Credit controller duties and responsibilities include:

• Keeping close watch on debtor account balances Reducing debtors’ 'Days Sales Outstanding’

• Responding to client queries

• Reconciling accounts

• Providing administrative support to finance team

• Ensuring the team adhere to credit and collection procedures

• Customer relations

• Dealing with queries and resolving issues as they arise in a timely manner.

• You will need to work well as part of a team and will share responsibility for dealing with finance related tickets, answering calls and taking customer payments as well as other administrative duties.

Key Skills:

• A keen eye for detail

• Excellent communicator (both written and verbal)

• Strong literacy & numeracy skills with comprehensive grammar and extensive vocabulary

• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines

• Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple and conflicting deadlines

• Capability of working in a team as well as individually

• Strong grasp of Microsoft Office

• Good problem solving skills

• A "right first time" attitude
