Job Title: Credit Controller

Location: Sevenoaks, Kent

Hybrid working after probation

Leading finance company based in Sevenoaks, Kent. We specialise in providing financial solutions for car dealers and customers. Our mission is to deliver outstanding service and innovative financing options while upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Credit Controller to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the credit control process, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, and maintaining positive relationships with our clients. You will work closely with the finance team to maintain accurate records and support the financial stability of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage and collect outstanding debts from customers in a timely manner.
  • Monitor customer accounts and follow up on overdue invoices via phone, email, and other communication methods.
  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies or issues with customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure smooth debt collection.
  • Prepare and send regular statements of account to customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all collection activities and customer communications.
  • Assess credit risk and make recommendations on credit terms and limits.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to provide updates on collection performance and potential bad debts.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the development of more efficient credit control procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and credit control processes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
