Position: Credit Controller

Location: Coventry, Warwickshire

Salary: £26,000 per annum starting salary

Term: Permanent, Full-time

Macildowie are pleased to be partnered with an esteemed market-leading company based in Coventry, Warwickshire, who are recruiting for a full-time, permanent Credit Controller to join the team. As a Credit Controller, you'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding the financial health of our business by ensuring responsible credit extension and prompt debt collection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolving billing or collection disputes and liaising with internal teams to address customer issues
  • Pursuing overdue invoices through various communication channels
  • Assessing the credit risk of new and existing customers
  • Analysing financial data and credit reports to set informed credit limits
  • Collaborating with sales and management teams to establish appropriate credit terms
  • Issuing accurate and timely invoices to customers
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation of credit agreements, invoices, and payment terms
  • Negotiating payment plans and terms with customers to recover outstanding debts
  • Cultivating positive relationships with customers and addressing inquiries regarding invoices and outstanding balances
  • Providing management with insights and recommendations for credit-related decisions
  • Collaborating with the finance team to optimise cash flow and minimise bad debt risk
  • Ensuring compliance with company credit policies and legal regulations

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar financial role
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Sound knowledge of credit management principles and practices
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make informed decisions
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks
  • Professional certifications in credit management (e.g. CICM) would be advantageous
