Credit Controller

Colchester - Hybrid 2 days WFH

£28,000 - £32,000

9-5pm, parking on site, hybrid working (2 days WFH after training)

This is a newly created role to a restructure of the Finance department. You will report to the Financial Controller and be part of a Credit team of 6.

  • Managing a ledger of 700+ accounts totally £1.6 million monthly
  • Chasing outstanding debts by telephone, email, letter and portals
  • Investigating and resolving invoice queries to ensure aged debtors are kept to a minimum
  • Liaising with residents, relatives, social services, local authorities and solicitors
  • Setting you new accounts to ensure correct details input and billing lines are set up correctly
  • Ensuring Direct Debits are set up for customers payments where appropriate
  • Cash allocation
  • Reconciling accounts and requesting credit notes when needed
  • Monthly ledger reviews with the manager to review problem accounts

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience within Credit Control
  • Excellent communications skills - ability to deal with individuals as well as businesses
  • A strong work ethic and a desire to do well
  • Good excel skills
