Credit Controller

Our client, a well known fast moving consumer goods supplier who sell to a number of channels including convenience stores, large chains & National retailers. You would be working within a fast pace environment whereby you would to have experience of dealing with chasing debts from large corporations /groups.

We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, highly motivated and detail-oriented, with a proven track record in credit control. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the credit control function, ensuring timely payment of outstanding invoices, and minimizing the risk of bad debt. This role will require a high level of energy and a "get things done" attitude, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough analysis of credit reports, financial statements, and other relevant information to assess the creditworthiness of individuals or businesses.
  • Communicate with customers to obtain additional information, clarify details, and address any credit-related inquiries.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate credit files, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and up-to-date.
  • Assess and recommend appropriate credit limits based on financial data and credit policies.
  • Identify potential risks and provide insights on credit risks associated with specific customers or transactions.
  • Monitor and enforce credit terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as sales and finance, to gather information and resolve credit-related issues.
  • Generate regular reports on credit-related metrics, trends, and outstanding balances for management review.
  • A proactive approach to debt collection. Assist in credit control activities, including following up on overdue payments and implementing collection strategies.


Qualifications:

  • Experience in credit control, required in a fast-paced environment
  • A proven track record of successfully managing the credit control function
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Sage
  • Experience with credit control software and accounting systems
