Job Title: Credit Controller

Location: Burton Latimer, Northampton

Salary: £27,000 to £30,000 - dependent on experience

Type: Permanent - Hybrid working hours available

Working Hours: Monday to Friday - 1 hour lunch - Flexible Hours - 25 - 37.5 hours a week

Job Description:

As a Credit Controller, your primary responsibility will be to provide essential support to the Finance team, specialising in Accounts Receivable and Credit Control. Your role will encompass the following key accountabilities:

  • Raise customer invoices, including consolidated ones with supporting reports.
  • Assist in reviewing bank statements and posting cash to sales ledger.
  • Review and release credit-stopped orders.
  • Chase overdue debt, maintaining correspondence records.
  • Handle invoice queries, liaising with teams for resolution, and corresponding with customers as needed.
  • Follow company process for overdue balances, including formal letter issuance before solicitor involvement.
  • Set up new customers on Sage, completing application forms and internal checks.
  • Conduct credit checks on customers and adjust credit limits per company policies.
  • Review credit insurance for customers, requesting changes to cover limits as necessary.
  • Provide information and reports to colleagues on accounts receivable balances, overdue invoices, and queries.
  • Perform ad-hoc finance tasks as needed.

Key Technical Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of 1 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise work effectively to meet personal and organisational objectives.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Practical Knowledge of VAT and duties on International Sales
