Fabulous opportunity for experienced Credit Controller to join this friendly team working in the offices in Derby. The key remit is to support Business Unit Managers with their debt. This role involves interaction with both internal stakeholders and customers so excellent communication skills are a must.

Core responsibilites include:

  • Prepare the debt report on specific days during the month
  • Monitor the progress daily on active debts, working closely with the Commercial Team to support
  • Contact customers by telephone and/or email to support in the collection of fees
  • Add late payment penalties to accounts in accordance with the Debt Management Policy
  • Work with commercial team to issue suspension letters on the 10th of the month
  • Supporting customers with payment plans and detailing these on the system for the Commercial team and Business Unit Managers
  • Working with customers using Student finance, Universal credit and Student finance
  • Working with external debt agencies for inactive accounts and when we have been unsuccessful in recovering the debt.
  • Supporting the team when someone is on annual leave.

General Duties:

  • All other duties as requested from Finance/Managers/Directors to include but not limited to creating spreadsheets, providing data, and any other ad hoc duties required to meet the demands of the team.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings via phone/in person
  • Participate in monthly team meetings in person
  • Flexibility for change in the debt process
