Credit Control Manager - Colchester
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Credit Control Manager to join this fast-expanding group with a turnover of around £55 million. You will be responsible for managing the credit control function and will be implementing processes and procedures, ensuring timely payments from customers and maintaining accurate financial records. This is a crucial role in the organisation as it directly impacts cash flow and financial stability.

Key Duties:

  • Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely payment of invoices
  • Contact key customers via phone, email, or mail to follow up on outstanding payments
  • Resolve any billing discrepancies or disputes with customers
  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions with customers regarding payment
  • Collaborate with the stores and sales team to address any credit-related issues with new or existing customers
  • Review credit applications and make recommendations on credit limits for new customers
  • Work towards reducing debtor days
  • Work closely with your finance team to reconcile accounts receivable and resolve any discrepancies
  • Generate reports on accounts receivable aging and provide analysis on overdue accounts

The ideal candidate will have…

  • At least 2 years’ experience as managing a Credit Control function/team
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficient in using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBook
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verba
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle difficult conversations with customers
