Overview

A really exciting brand-new opportunity had become available at a distribution business, based South of Birmingham. This role here will be working in part of a smaller Accounts Receivable team, supporting the credit controllers with collecting overdue debt. This position has come about due to a backlog of queries, but also the business now recognising there is a need going forward for some one to support with these credit control queries.

What makes this position so exciting is how broad it is, you will be involved with such a wide range of accounts receivable and credit control tasks, this will include but won't be limited to; supporting the credit controllers to investigate issues, liaising with different departments in the business to resolve issues, identifying common trends with issues and implementing new processes to prevent, managing the email inbox with incoming queries, supporting senior members of staff (Credit Control Manager and Finance Director) and occasionally supporting with chasing payments. Due to this being a new role, they are wanting to recruit for it as a temporary to permanent position due to the responsibilities of the role still being up in the air, once the person starts and things start to become more official, this role will convert over to permanent. However, due to the back log this business is ideally looking for someone who is either immediately available or on a short notice period.

Skills required
  • Be familiar with accounts receivable finance as this role will revolve heavily around prior knowledge of chasing debt and resolving payment queries.
  • Be a proactive individual who will see these issues and recurring problems and be forward thinking about how to resolve this and prevent them going forward.
  • Be a strong communicator, this role will require you to liaise with a wide range of people and departments within the business, so being comfortable with this is key.
  • Be immediately available, or on a short notice period as this role is looking for someone to start quite quickly!
