Cover Supervisor
  • Annual Salary: Competitive 
  • Location: Hassocks, West Sussex, BN6
  • Job Type: Permanent, Term-time (29 hours per week)

This School is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join their friendly and committed team. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and is eager to make a difference by providing supervision and assistance to pupils when a teacher is unavailable. If you have confidence, authority, flexibility, resilience, and excellent communication skills, we would love to hear from you.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Supervising pupils in the absence of a teacher and ensuring that the lesson is conducted in a safe and productive environment.
  • Assisting pupils with their work as set by the teacher and managing classroom behaviour.
  • Collecting any completed work after the lesson and returning it to the appropriate teacher.
  • Reporting back as appropriate using the school’s agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Confidence and authority to take control of a class in a secondary school setting.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with young people.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying situations and workloads.
  • Resilience to handle the challenges of classroom management.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Computer literacy
  • Right to work in the UK
