As part of our ongoing development, we have decided to recruit a suitable person for the this position.

Join as Cost Control and Port Specialist, driving cost-saving synergies and direct contract efficiency in the Atlantic and Pacific region, reporting to Head of Cost Control.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Shipping. Agency or port operations is preferable;
  • Charismatic and reliable team player, able to work effectively across desks and time zones in an international organization;
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop innovative operational cost-saving strategies and to maximize voyage profits;
  • Customer focused, energy and creativity needed in a fast-pace international environment; some traveling might be required;
  • Strong in systematically organizing daily tasks and problem solving;
  • Familiarity with maritime business software systems;
  • Expert negotiator;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

JOB SCOPE

  • Direct Contract Oversight Manage, validate and ensure compliance with direct billing contracts, assisting the Head of Cost Control for efficient contract management.
  • Cost Optimization Identify new direct billing opportunities in collaboration with regional managers.
  • Data Analysis Leverage data analysis to identify cost trends and areas for improvements, contributing to cost control strategies.
  • Expense Monitoring Monitor and analyse port costs to identify variances, trends and areas of potential overspending.
  • Negotiate Agreements Coordinate and support negotiations for new direct billing and agency contracts, focusing on cost efficiency.
  • Contract Compliance Monitoring Monitor and enforce compliance with direct billing contracts, ensuring adherence to terms and conditions internally and externally.
  • Supplier Relationship Management Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors to enhance cost-saving opportunities.
  • Legal Compliance Ensure all contract activities adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, working closely with the Contract Management and Risk Management teams to maintain full compliance.
