Cost Accountant, Huntingdon

Reed Finance are seeking a Cost Accountant to join a large manufacturing company in Huntingdon who have exciting growth plans. This role is crucial for maintaining the cost accounting system, ensuring accurate cost determination, and conducting profitability analysis. You will be a key player in finance, working closely with cross-functional teams to support production and profitability goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the costing model to reflect changes in manufacturing costs accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Manage the upload of cost changes to the customer pricing portal efficiently.
  • Act as the primary contact for the New Product Development process, providing costings and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Analyse standard costs versus actual costs, reporting on factors affecting pricing and profitability.
  • Perform manufacturing cost audits to ensure comprehensive cost-con accuracy.
  • Assist external audits.
  • Support on monthly management accounts and P&L.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified, Part Qualified or QBE Accountant.
  • Experience with standard costing models and cost systems.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and superb organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple stakeholders.
