The purpose of the role is to build and maintain strong relationships with business and industry in order to:
  • develop opportunities for internships, part-time jobs and industry related projects,
  • identify guest lecturers and other global learning opportunities
  • to support the internship and project process
  • develop opportunities for B2B executive education to build revenue, Executive MBA sponsorship, and recruitment for all our programs.

Main duties

Relationship management

  • Establish strong relationships with companies to be able to provide internships, part time job opportunities, industry related project opportunities for students; guest lectures, executive education and marketing
  • Seeking out and following up new business contacts
  • Keeping contacts informed about the latest activities on campus
  • To be responsible for internships and potential job opportunities for students
  • Engaging global alumni and the Industry Advisory Board to make new business connections
  • Organise guest speakers and workshops by corporate partners

Internships and global experience

  • To identify and develop appropriate approaches to ensure the School secures internships for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Review and responds to all incoming JD’s and requests in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Ensure that students are prepared for their internship
  • Administer the internships and ensure that all students have a corporate and academic mentor and ensure that meetings are taking place
  • Liaise with companies to resolve any issues during the internship
  • Follow up to get feedback which can be used to improve programmes

B2B Executive Education and marketing

  • Liaise with partners to build executive education revenues from our corporate network
  • To work with the Dean and the academic staff to help develop the Executive Education offer
  • To obtain new referrals and ideas from the existing relationships for participation in executive education
  • Use the network to encourage B2B participation in taught programmes and B2B Executive MBA sponsorships
Person SpecificationEssential CriteriaQualifications
  • Business related degree or equivalent qualification
  • Evidence of recent CPD
  • Experience of establishing successful relationships with employers, recruitment partners and/or internship providers
  • Experience of networking with external and internal contacts in order to promote services and establish joint working.
ExperienceSkills, knowledge and abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with a wide range of contacts, both internally and externally
  • High level proficiency in both written and spoken English
  • Expertise in managing and using databases.
  • Knowledge of key business sectors in both the private and public domains
  • Understanding of student and graduate employability in HE and graduate employment
  • Understanding of student expectations particularly in terms of ambition and on programme experience at the postgraduate level.
  • Has wide network of companies to contact
  • Experience of collecting, analysing, and reporting data to inform decision making and service planning
  • Experience of working in a commercial business environment and/or business development
  • Knowledge of employer requirements for executive education
