Corporate Governance Manager

Based: South West (Hybrid/remote)

Duration: 3/6 months

Responsibilities include

  • Facilitate and co-ordinate the operation of ICB’s committee and other decision-making meetings
  • Produce high quality reports on corporate governance issues to agreed schedules
  • Identify improvements required to meet any regulatory standards or where investigation indicates that there are gaps in current practice which may result in risk to the ICB’s compliance
  • Make proper arrangements for all meetings, including the prompt and accurate preparation and publication of agenda and minutes, within strict deadlines, and the efficient conduct of all business of the committee(s) serviced in accordance with all statutory requirements
  • Assure the integrity of committee reports, identifying and highlighting deviations from agreed standards
  • Attend meetings, brief Chairs, listen to debates, and produce high quality minutes which provide a concise and formal record of discussions and decisions made at meetings
  • Respond to procedural questions during meetings and provide advice as required
  • Support the implementation of the Standing Orders, Standing Financial Instructions, Terms of Reference etc and associated governance policies and procedures across the organisation ensuring compliance with the highest standards of governance

Essential Experience

  • Relevant experience within the public sector (ideally NHS)
  • Experience of Committee Governance which includes the ability to evaluate the current local position against national and local standards within the NHS
