Corporate Accountant

I am seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to join a dynamic finance team based in Middlesbrough. Due to significant growth, this business now require a brand new role within the finance structure, offering an extremely exciting opportunity in Teesside! The successful candidate will take the lead in managing all operational and overhead costs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial regulations. This role is pivotal in supporting the company's financial integrity and contributing to their continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the accrual of operational and overhead costs in line with the month-end timetable.
• Partner with the AR Supervisor to ensure accurate group income accounting.
• Produce revenue proofs to support audit processes.
• Execute monthly intercompany processes, including invoice management and balance reporting.
• Support the production of quarterly VAT returns and liaise with HMRC.
• Assist in the annual external audit and maintain up-to-date balance sheets.
• Prepare balance sheet control reconciliations.
• Drive the development and improvement of key finance processes.
• Liaise with stakeholders to ensure accurate information for accounting adjustments.
• Aid in the development and training of the Assistant Accountant.
• Perform ad hoc duties to support business objectives.

Person Specification:

• Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Proven experience in an Accountant role.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
• Strong commercial acumen and business sense.
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and manage multiple deadlines.
