Childhood First is a leading charity in the provision of care, education and psychotherapeutic treatment for children suffering the consequences of early life trauma. Merrywood House is a specialist residential children’s home providing a programme of care, treatment and education for up to eight young people aged between 10 to 17 years.

  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • 25 days annual leave (exclusive of public holidays);
  • Up to 6% employer pension contribution;
  • Health benefit and Life assurance

Food plays an important role in the programme of therapeutic care and we are seeking a Cook who will be responsible for food preparation at Merrywood House.

We are looking for an experienced Cook, with knowledge of health and hygiene regulations to undertake all aspects of food provision for the community, including menu planning, purchasing and cooking.

The ideal candidate would be someone with a thoughtful approach, along with an understanding of the importance of the provision of food for children, including nourishment.
