Conveyancing / Private Client Paralegal
Job description
We are looking to appoint a Full-time Permanent Conveyancing / Private Client Paralegal to work within our busy team.
Required Skills:
Law degree (or equivalent ) and preferably completion of the Legal Practice Course or Membership of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives
Description
- You will be required to assist Fee Earners with their caseload of sales , purchases , remortgages , transfers of equity and other property and private client transactions . You will be responsible for progressing all tasks in a timely manner. The role may in time develop to managing a small case load of your own files under supervision .
Daily responsibilities will include:
- To be the first point of contact for new clients
- Taking instructions from existing clients and providing Fee Earners with the appropriate information to progress matters
- Opening and closing files and ensuring compliance with file management procedures
- Carrying out identification and Anti-Money Laundering checks;
- Dealing with routine enquiries and communications and updating clients and other parties
- Drafting standard letters ; making and receiving telephone calls;
- Drafting some legal forms with guidance/instructions
- Setting up completions for sales and purchases and post completion work
- Using online portal systems;
- Other general office duties.
Person Specification
- Excellent Computer literacy skills and ability
- Excellent communications skills and attention to detail;
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
