The Company:

Our client is an award-winning, full service, commercial law firm and they are rapidly developing a national reputation for its innovative approach to delivering legal services. They operate in the financial services, leisure, retail & consumer goods, technology & media, renewables, housing and public sectors. Their specialisms are real estate, banking and finance, commercial, corporate, employment, dispute resolution and litigation.

The Job:

On behalf of our client we are seeking a Senior Case Handler. This is a hybrid role, working from their centrally based offices in Bristol and you will be responsible for your own case load of conveyancing files. Within this department they have specialist expertise in each UK jurisdiction. They act for banks, building societies, other secured lenders and third party services. When a property is taken into possession, they ensure that the title checking process is carried out promptly, and a sale progressed proactively. They also provide advice and support

Within this role your responsibilities will include:

  • Dealing with a complex / non-standard caseload
  • Ensure regular communication with Team Manager regarding work related issues or problems which should be reported immediately and escalated if necessary.
  • In the absence of the Team Managers, taking responsibility with the other Senior Case Handlers and Case Handlers for ensuring that the workflows are printed and actioned together with daily post.

The Person:

For this role, our client is looking for someone who has conveyancing experience. In addition to this you will have ideally

  • Previous experience in checking both freehold and leasehold titles and reporting issue to clients, drafting documents
  • Confident at researching and interpreting cases/legislation and a competent user or Lexis and Westlaw
  • Experience of shared ownership (Homebuy schemes, Housing associations and shared ownership housing)
