Our client is a leading fitout and refurbishment contractor specialising in transforming commercial, education, leisure, and residential spaces into functional, aesthetically pleasing environments.

Due to growth of the business, they are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team. The Contracts Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This individual will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, liaising with clients and subcontractors, and driving operational efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.

Position Overview - Contracts Manager

  • Lead and manage refurbishment and fitout projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining open communication channels to address any concerns, provide project updates, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to procure materials, equipment, and services necessary for project execution. Negotiate contracts and oversee subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Develop project budgets and forecasts, closely monitor project expenses, and implement cost-saving measures to maximize profitability. Prepare accurate and timely cost reports for management and clients.
  • Identify potential risks and obstacles that may impact project delivery and implement proactive measures to mitigate risks. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, including site managers, engineers, and support staff. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to optimize team performance.
  • Uphold the highest standards of workmanship and quality control throughout the project lifecycle. Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to ensure compliance with project specifications and client expectations.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and correspondence. Prepare comprehensive project reports for internal stakeholders and clients as required.

Position Requirements - Contracts Manager

  • Proven experience in project management within the construction industry, with a focus on refurbishment and fitout projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and project delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Solid organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in project management software and MS Office suite.
