Your new role
The firm is offering an exhilarating chance to become part of a rapidly expanding, congenial, and acclaimed team known for its exceptional work and notable clientele. As a valued member of our top-rated legal team, you'll engage with our national construction and engineering division at the Cambridge location. Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of responsibilities, from providing comprehensive adjudication, ADR, and tribunal counsel to offering contract management assistance.
Under the mentorship of seasoned senior associates and the PSL team, you'll independently handle various tasks, including the creation of adjudication papers, advisory notes, and strategic plans. Additionally, you'll have the privilege of advocating for the firm's clients in meetings and hearings, as well as contributing to client workshops. Your involvement will be instrumental in shaping and advancing the practice's growth strategy.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will have over two years of experience post-qualification, either with a regional, national, or international firm, or within an in-house legal team, possess a solid foundation in construction dispute resolution. The candidate's ability to collaborate effectively within a team on various cases is evident. Moreover, the candidate should exhibit a keen understanding and enthusiasm for contributing to the development and expansion of both the team and the practice area.
The candidate should also possess excellent written English skills with a keen eye for detail, ensuring precision in all communications. They should have the ability to establish meaningful relationships with clients, prospects, and key influencers, alongside robust negotiation skills that facilitate successful outcomes. A proactive, sensible, and resourceful approach is essential, as well as strong interpersonal skills that promote effective collaboration. Research proficiency, particularly with digital tools, and a solid understanding of information technology are also crucial.
Moreover, a genuine passion for the field of construction disputes is expected, coupled with an understanding of the client's business environment. This knowledge enables the provision of practical advice that is both articulate and actionable. The capacity to quickly absorb complex information and pinpoint the most significant aspects is a key competency that will distinguish a prospective candidate in this role.
