Do you want to place your career path on ‘concrete’ foundations? Would you like to launch yourself into materials testing and enhance your laboratory skills in a sector where they are really valued?

We are a national but family owned aggregates organisation who are looking to add a new testing technician to our team at this South Derbyshire location. We offer secured roles, with great training and internal progression opportunities.

What’s the package?

Circa £29k per annum

25 days AL plus bank holidays

Company pension and life assurance

Company van to commute to work

What’s the role?

Testing technicians work within a technical lab environment running tests on materials like concrete, asphalt and other aggregates. Don’t worry if you haven’t worked with these materials before- we’ll train you.

It would be nice if you have experienced a lab environment before, whether this be as part of your academic studies or employment. We’ve employed people who have tested food samples, chemicals and a range of other things before! Any sort of scientific background is of interest.

Results are recorded using online software and Microsoft packages and you’ll need an eye for detail to input them accurately. You’ll also have to flag up unusual readings and data to technical managers.

The ability to follow procedures correctly and work without constant supervision is key. You’ll also need to be able to drive to collect samples and return them to the lab.

This role is just the first step on a technical career with this partner, with lots of opportunities to explore as you plot your long term career.

Time for a concrete career path? Apply now.
