The Role: As a full time Computer Science Lecturer, you will have the chance to make a significant impact on the lives of our students. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality and engaging computer science lessons, catering to a diverse range of learners. You will have the opportunity to share your expertise through innovative teaching methods, ensuring students develop a solid understanding of programming languages, algorithms, data structures, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching GCSE Computer science and TLR responsibilities if wanted.
  • Prepare and deliver lectures, workshops, and practical sessions on various computer science topics.
  • Develop and update course materials to reflect the latest industry trends and advancements.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Supervise and guide students through practical projects and assignments.
  • Support the department in curriculum development and enhancement.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of emerging technologies and teaching methodologies.

Requirements:

  • A passion for computer science and a strong commitment to education.
  • A relevant degree in computer science or a related field (Ph.D. preferred).
  • Proven experience in teaching computer science at a further education level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of programming languages, algorithms, data structures, and related concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their goals.

The successful applicant will be able to teach A level across Computing

It is also desirable for candidates to possess technical expertise in one or more coding languages and possess an understanding of BTEC.

We also require applicants to have:

  • A relevant teaching qualification (PGCE / Cert Ed).
  • A good honours degree in a relevant subject discipline or significant experience within the IT industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Web Design. * Skills in at least one Programming Language, such as C# / C++ or Python.
  • Ability to utilise new technologies to engage, inspire and excite students in the subject area.
  • A student first, creative, fun and exciting approach to teaching and learning in the classroom

We welcome applications from experienced teachers and ECT's. ECT's are fully supported through our two-year ECT programme.

The STEM department comprises of A-level Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Further Maths, Computer Science and Cambridge Technical I.T Extended Certificate.
