We at Horizon Teachers are currently working with an Outstanding' Secondary School that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher and ICT to join the dynamic faculty in the vibrant borough of Harrow. This temporary position is available immediately after Easter, extending until the end of the term, with the potential for extension into the new academic year for the right candidate.

The Secondary School provides a nurturing and stimulating learning environment where students are encouraged to explore their potential in the field of computer science. Our committed team of educators is dedicated to inspiring students to become confident, creative, and critical thinkers in the digital age.

The Role:
  • To take a lead on the development, implementation, and monitoring of KS3 within the Computer Science department.
  • To implement policies and practices for Computer Science that reflect the school's commitment to high achievement through effective teaching and learning.
  • To ensure that staff are clear about the importance and role of Computer Science in contributing to students' spiritual moral, cultural, mental, and physical development, and in preparing students for the opportunities, responsibilities, and experiences of adult life.
  • To use data effectively to identify students who are underachieving at KS3 and, where necessary, create and implement effective plans of action to support those students.
  • To monitor the progress made in achieving the department's targets, evaluate the effects on teaching and learning, and use this analysis to guide further improvement.
  • To regularly review the progress towards the targets set in the Departmental Development
  • Plan and provide regular progress updates to the Head of Department, to ensure that they are fully aware of all successes, issues, and concerns

Requirements:
  • Proven experience teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 students, with a strong understanding of the national curriculum.
  • Passion for computer science education and staying abreast of latest developments in the field.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
