A highly regarded Insurance Broking firm is looking for a Compliance Partner with a strategic mindset, proven compliance track record and ability to step into a pivotal compliance role for the business.This is an exciting, challenging and diverse role that requires solid understanding of compliance procedures and process within either an Underwriting or Broking capacity.
The successful applicant must be able to juggle and monitor all business performance information and activities, effectively manage all information reporting lines and implement changes to address identified improvements taking responsibility for more complex challenges when required. You will also be responsible for training of team members, including regular performance reviews and coaching to improve technical knowledge and client knowledge/awareness.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Cert CII a minimum requirement, more advanced Insurance qualification would be a distinct advantage
- Minimum 5 years’ previous experience in either Underwriting or Broking
- Able to work independently within agreed procedures and processes
- Competent using computerised systems and standard software (email, word, excel, bespoke insurance)
- Organised and able to prioritise effectively around constantly changing work flow and circumstances
- Confident dealing with clients
- Effective team manager with inspirational leadership qualities, able to motivate, manage and delegate tasks
- Ability effectively master new information and implement and adapt company procedures when required
- Confident and able to manage stress whilst leading with a calm demeanour at all times
Audit & Compliance Duties
- Liaising with the Auditor and Coverholder to confirm audit dates
- Providing slips/bordereaux, and any other required information, to the Auditor
- Reviewing audit report and recommendations; liaising with the syndicate on any discrepancies
- Communication recommendations for gaps in procedures and providing guidance
- Ensuring recommendations are compiled within an appropriate timeframe.
- Processing and logging information on internal systems
- Compliance check new and renewal business protocols
- Reviewing applications assisting smooth application process with risk providers/underwriters
- New Clients and New Market due diligence
- Working with staff, managers and teams to ensure compliance standards at all times
