Job Role: Complex Carer
Location: Newark
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £16,000 – £19,000 per annum
Contract Type: Full-Time

Are you looking for a career where you can work with students who have significant learning difficulties? If so, GSL Education can help. GSL Education is actively recruiting a Complex Carer to work in Newark starting immediately.

Complex Carer Responsibilities:

• The ability to identify individuals going into crisis mode and follow/be familiar with their special and complex care needs
• Provide 1:1 support for individuals with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
• Support the delivery of in-class activities, promoting independent learning where possible, and encouraging appropriate social skills.
• Follow Education Health Care Plans to ensure outcomes are met. 
• Previous involvement with people needing complex care is an added advantage.
• Previous working experience with Educational Psychology services, Paediatricians, CAMHS or Therapist.
• An Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education.

Complex Carer Responsibilities: 

• Support on a one to one basis for individuals with complex care needs.
• Follow Health Care Plans to ensure outcomes are met. 
• Assist in engaging lessons including outdoor activities and creative engagement. 
• Support individual social interaction.
• Be able to work collaboratively with staff members and outside agencies, such as counsellors and mental health professionals
• Develop self-esteem, confidence, and emotional wellbeing resilience in students to ensure regular attendance in school and active participation in learning and social opportunities.
