Charity People is delighted to collaborate with Carlisle Youth Zone and announce a groundbreaking opportunity made possible by the generous support of the OnSide Foundation. They are actively seeking a dynamic individual to join their Operational Leadership team in a brand-new role dedicated to revolutionising their communications approach.

Salary: £30,000 per annum
Location: Carlisle Youth Zone
Contract: Permanent, full-time, or potential for 4 days

About the charity:

Since opening, CYZ has welcomed almost 15,000 young members, and currently receives around 1200 visits per week from young people accessing their youth offer. Integral to the charity's work is a purpose built, £5 million facility, that includes astro-turf pitches, 4-court sports hall, climbing wall, dance and drama studio, fully equipped gym, music room, sensory room, library, and training kitchen. When full of young people, it is a busy, bustling, and vibrant space.

Beyond the amazing facility, CYZ's greatest strength is the team who together, are dedicated to making a difference for young people. Their work is built on the foundations of quality youth work practice; it offers young people opportunities that are educative, expressive, participative, inclusive, and empowering.

About the role:

As a key member of the Operational Leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in steering the ship towards a future where the voices of young people are heard loud and clear. This role is not just a job; it's a chance to shape the narrative, raise their profile, and drive engagement with crucial stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Vision: Craft and implement a cutting-edge communications strategy that aligns with CYZ's development ambitions and values.
  • Profile Building: Elevate CYZ's visibility, ensuring that their initiatives, successes, and the challenges faced by young people are front and centre on the public agenda.
  • Audience Engagement: Develop and nurture relationships with key audiences, fostering a community that champions the cause of youth empowerment.
  • Impact Amplification: Grow and diversify our supporter base, unlocking the potential for even greater impact and positive change for young people.
