This is an exciting 12 month fixed term contract opportunity for an experienced Communications Manager.to join a leading European Intellectual Property firm who act for many of the world’s most innovative and successful companies.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing & BD, this maternity cover role sits within an established Marketing & BD team. The successful applicant will enjoy a varied role taking responsibility for the delivery of a range of content focused projects and day to day communication needs. Researching and staying up to date with developments and trends, you will Chair editorial board meetings, engaging with fee earners to ensure input into the communications strategy of the firm and proactively providing guidance on content. Developing a consistent tone of voice for all the firm’s communications across platforms, you will develop and implement a regular programme of content to support the BD objectives of the firm, collaborating with senior fee earners to develop content including website articles, sector reports and infographics and other creative outputs. The role holder will be required to develop and deliver content writing training sessions to support the generation of article content and will proofread and edit content for both external distribution and internal consumption. You will also develop podcast scripts in conjunction with fee earners and support them through the process when they are new to the podcast approach. In addition, the Communications Manager will provide guidance and support on PR matters, including writing and distributing press releases, identifying appropriate publications to partner with on content opportunities and measuring the effectiveness and impact of these activities.

Self-motivated, with the ability to work under pressure, the ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar role gained whilst working within a professional services environment, ideally a law firm, to include demonstrable success in writing for a B2B audience. With creative writing ability paired with an analytical mindset to ensure content opportunities are optimised and the impact is monitored., the Communications Manager will possess a high attention to detail and superior communication, interpersonal and influencing skills and will enjoy establishing credibility and rapport with the firm’s partners. Previous PR and podcasting experience are highly desirable whilst an appreciation of Intellectual Property and a sound understanding of both e-marketing software and publishing platforms will be advantageous.
