Job Opportunity: Commissioning Lead

Location: West Sussex (Working arrangements include Chichester weekly on Wednesdays, with flexible full homeworking option)

Contract Duration: 3 months

Working Hours: 3-4 days per week (22.5 - 30 hours)

Salary: £500-£600 per day

Are you passionate about making a difference in social care provision? Do you have experience in leading commissioning projects? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Commissioning Lead in West Sussex.

As a Commissioning Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that social care solutions are available across the county for the residents of West Sussex. You will take the lead on specific commissioning work streams and handle complex issues escalated by senior officers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead commissioning plans to improve quality and outcomes for individuals.
  • Achieve value for money and ensure optimal use of resources.
  • Build positive relationships with stakeholders and partners.
  • Lead on strategic and operational co-production from individuals with lived experience.
  • Identify needs and gaps in local provision and support the implementation of solutions.
  • Review outcomes and performance, and present findings to senior managers.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in social care commissioning, preferably leading on a care homes tender. Alternatively, experience in leading social care or health/NHS tenders will be considered.
  • Excellent project management skills, ideally with experience in adult social care or public sector, demonstrating the ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with various stakeholders, including other local authorities and service providers.
  • Regular check-ins with line managers and Heads of Service to ensure project timelines are maintained.
