Commissioning Engineer

We are actively looking for 2 Commissioning Engineer to join a Tier 1 contractor to help deliver upgrade works within the Southern Water area.

Role: Commissioning Engineer

Rate: £430 - £450 per day

Location: Kent & Sussex

Start Date: May 2024

Duties:

  • Reporting to the Commissioning Manager
  • Experience and knowledge of the engineering discipline in line with the project scope
  • Commissioning input to outline design to final commissioning and handover input throughout
  • Writing commissioning plans and procedures
  • Be able to carry out hands of commissioning activties
  • FAT testing and management of close out of any defects found
  • Reviewing M&E schematics, wiring diagrams, FDS documents, P&I documents
  • Input design change as and when required
  • Management and coordination of project commissioning activities whilst liaising with any 3rd parties
  • Successfully manager the M&E and Process design and scope changes
  • Liaise with design and suppliers as well as subcontractors to ensure that all equipment is set up fully and commissioning at each project
  • All equipment is FAT tested and snag free prior to arrival on the site
  • Ensuring that all data for installation, testing and commissioning is captured
  • Reviewing the suppy chain performance against the company's KPIs and KPMs
  • Consistently implementing initiatives to improve behaviours relating to SHEQ
  • Client facing communication with input into early contractor improvement process through site surveys of systems and equipment
  • Have an input into reports and other briefings to client management

Requirements:

  • Experience working within the Water Industry is essential
  • An industry applicable ONC or City & Guilds / NVQ equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience of working within the water and / or sewage industries
  • Relevant H&S qualifications (IOSH or CITB 5 Day Site Safety Management, A relevant CSCS card and First Aid training)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Several years' experience in commission engineering
  • Ambitious and dynamic personality
  • First Aid
  • Valid Full UK Driving License
