Role Overview

An opportunity exists for a Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer (Associate level), within the Portfolio Valuation Department based in our Finsbury Circus House office. The successful candidate will be part of a collegiate team which provides regular revaluations to a variety of clients of properties throughout the UK.

The majority of time will be spent undertaking valuations on behalf of the major UK institutions, property companies, unitised funds and life companies and liaising with clients and colleagues. The types of properties valued will include all the main commercial sectors, along with the opportunity to work with our colleagues who specialise in the valuation of properties in the “Alternatives” sectors.

This is an opportunity for the right individual to work with an experienced and rapidly growing team in an exciting and expanding area of our business. There will be a good degree of responsibility and direct client contact.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the team you will be responsible for:
• Taking responsibility for a number of portfolios and providing valuation advice to clients.
• Dealing with all aspects of an instruction and with clients with minimal supervision.
• Inspecting properties.
• Carrying out due diligence enquiries.
• Reporting to clients, developing strong client relationships and liaising with senior colleagues.
• Contributing to discussion and debate on the market and implications for value.
• Developing and maintaining active communication within the wider Valuation Division, along with colleagues in other Divisions throughout the UK.
• Developing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the investment and occupational markets in all sectors.
• Contributing to new business initiatives.
In addition to the tasks described above, the job holder may be required to carry out other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time 

Key Skills

• Skilled in commercial RICS Red Book valuations
• High attention to detail, well organised and able to display initiative.
• Excellent verbal, numerical and report writing skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
• A team player with leadership potential.
• Strategic approach to problem solving.
• Highly motivated.
• An ability to utilise varying methods of valuation.
• Computer literate – you will be expected to be conversant with Excel, Word, Argus (Investor and Developer).
