Are you an experienced commercial underwriter, with strong experience gained in an MGA, UW Agency or composite insurer dealing with Property, Liabilities and BI. If so, we have a role for you that will offer you a great challenge and the opportunity to work in a truly exciting business in a genuinely awesome team of people!

We are working closely with a genuinely lovely MGA in Gloucester, who have shown some impressive growth over the last few years (GWP has increased form £10million to £14million in a few years), and now have a genuinely exciting opportunity for someone to join their underwriting team.  We know this business really well, having placed two of the 3 Exec team, and they really are a super bunch of people, who offer a fun and supportive working environment in a business that is going from strength to strength.

This MGA focus on Leisure risks, with the main areas of focus currently being Holiday Parks and residential parks and have recently extended this into individuals who own lodges and caravans on these types of parks, having developed a scheme for this.

You will be responsible for writing Property, EL, Pl and Bi lines of business on their schemes working under a DA, with premiums around the £20k-£250k mark.

As above, you will need to have strong commercial underwriting experience within Property, Liabilities and BI and will consider those from an MGA, Underwriting Agency or Composite environment. You will also possess an entrepreneurial spirit, being able to challenge your brokers to trade. You will ideally also hold the Cert CII or Dip CII, though this is not essential to be considered if you have the experience they need.

In return, the salary on offer is £38-45k plus bonus, and a strong benefits package which includes 28 days holiday + bank holidays, 10% non-contributary pension, and after probation:- Private Medical Insurance, Income Protection (50% of salary) Life /insurance x 4 of salary, an employee assistance program and 13 week sick pay policy.

They also offer hybrid working with 2/3 days a week from home being the norm here for the rest of the team.
